Man sentenced to 20 years in prison for raping his daughter – The Southern Eye

A man from MATOBO was sentenced to 20 years in prison for raping his daughter (17).

The 39-year-old accused appeared before the Gwanda Magistrate’s Court last week and was charged with rape.

Prosecutors said sometime in June last year, the daughter was at home cleaning her room when her father came in without knocking.

The court heard that the father accused his daughter of having sexual relations with other men instead of fulfilling her sexual desires with him.

He then raped her.

The plaintiff screamed for help and he threatened to kill her.

After the incident, the plaintiff told her mother about the crime.

Her mother advised her to discuss the matter with her aunt.

It was only through a tip-off that the police came to light, which led to the arrest of the father.
