NBA Player Jordan Nwora Brings Summer Camp to Buffalo

Toronto Raptors’ Jordan Nwora never forgets to help the kids in Buffalo.

BUFFALO, NY — NBA champion and Toronto Raptors player Jordan Nwora gives back to his hometown of Buffalo, NY, and the community through basketball camps and his foundation.

“Every day it’s just about teaching these kids, helping them learn, grow and hopefully develop a love for the game of basketball,” he said.

The Jordan Nwora Foundation was founded in 2020 and since its inception, Nwora has hosted 22 camps in multiple countries, helping over 5,000 children. The July basketball camp in Buffalo attracted nearly 200 participants.

“I really hope to continue doing this,” he added. “Every year I’ll continue to grow and expand the camp and give back as much as I can.”

For Nwora, it’s about more than teaching kids basketball.

“We have great leaders here, local and foreign,” he added. “They show how to lead, how to be good teammates, how to be cooperative with each other. You know, it’s great.”

The Park School of Buffalo, located in Amherst, is where the alumnus aims to instill values in children through sports, developing leadership, self-discipline and physical and emotional health.

“A lot of these kids are very talented, they’re learning, but they’re not at the level where I can talk to them like a student or a professional,” he said. “But I hope these camps will help them get there one day.”

The organization promotes opportunities for disadvantaged children and communities.
