Two dead and one injured in shooting in the 7th district at noon

NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – Two people were killed and a third injured in a shooting in the Seventh Ward on Sunday afternoon (July 28), according to New Orleans police.

According to police, the shooting occurred at about 12:45 p.m. in the 1700 block of Joseph Guillaume Place, along a two-block stretch where St. Claude Avenue becomes N. Rampart Street at the intersection with St. Bernard Avenue.

Two victims were pronounced dead at the scene. A third was taken to hospital. The extent of their injuries was not disclosed.

Information on the age and gender of the victims was not readily available.
