Utica man arrested after threatening incident on Seymour Avenue

UTICA, NY (WUTR/WFXV/WPNY) — A Utica man was arrested Wednesday night after threatening juveniles with a gun, according to Utica police.

On Wednesday, July 23, officers were called to the 1200 block of Seymour Avenue around 7:00 p.m. Upon arrival, officers spoke with several people who said there had been a fight between juveniles.


During the fight, an adult man – later identified as 22-year-old Sa Ah of Utica – threatened the teens with a gun. Police say Ah then left the scene while others followed him and called police.

Police eventually found Ah at a nearby convenience store. Based on the information they received, officers searched Ah’s person and found a .40 caliber ghost gun in his waistband. Ah was subsequently arrested and taken to the Utica Police Department.

Ah is currently accused of:

  • Criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree, a class C violent felony,
  • Criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, a class D violent felony,
  • Criminal possession of a firearm, a class E felony,
  • Second-degree menacing, a Class A misdemeanor, and
  • Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a Class A Misdemeanor.
