Numerous showers and storms with heavy rainfall

  • A persistent front brings further showers from Wednesday to Thursday
  • Local rainfall and flash flooding possible
  • Drier conditions expected by the weekend

WEDNESDAY

Once again, showers and storms are forecast. The biggest concern is localized downpours, which can easily bring 1 inch or more of rain in the heaviest showers. With each wave of rain, the ground becomes increasingly wet, increasing the risk of localized flooding.

The maximum temperatures today will be above 25 degrees and below to mid 25 degrees.

Isolated showers and thunderstorms are possible on Wednesday.

THURSDAY

A front will move into the region on Thursday, bringing with it numerous showers and some thunderstorms. New model forecasts suggest winds could be at their highest on Thursday morning, meaning morning rush hour could get wet.

The maximum temperatures remain between 21 and 25 degrees Celsius.

THE WEEKEND

A weak cold front will move through the region on Friday and reach North Carolina by Saturday. Based on the pattern, it will likely be a drier weekend. Highs will be back in the 30s, along with isolated showers/storms. It should be a good weekend to plan pool, swimming, and boating trips.
