Kedreyon Williams worked as a part-time officer for the New Roads Police Dept. from October 2017 to May 2019. Around the same time, he was also a senior volunteer firefighter with the District 5 Fire Dept. in Pointe Coupee Parish. He no longer works for either agency.

Families of Kedreyon Williams victims speak out

In an exclusive interview with UWKA woman who claims her godson was one of the three victims said her godson was in good spirits after the arrest was announced. She said her godchild had allegedly been sexually abused for about three years.

“It really tore the family apart. The guy had my little godson. He put a gun to his head and let him do things to him,” she said of Williams. “I’m better today because he (the godson) told me he’s going to be OK and we’re going to get him counseling and help because we want him to talk to somebody. He needs to go to counseling. It’s a must. He needs to talk to somebody.”

The godmother, whose name UWK is withholding the information to protect the victim’s identity. She said that before Williams’ arrest, she believes other victims’ families were hesitant to contact authorities because Williams used to work as a police officer.

In light of his previous work as a part-time officer, New Roads Police Chief Cedric Epps UWK When the victim’s family informed him of the allegations, he was out of town attending a conference, but he took immediate action.

“I knew I would be out for a week, so I immediately decided to contact the sheriff’s office and ask them to investigate. The New Roads Police Department is in a rebuilding phase with their investigators and I wanted to make sure the investigation was conducted properly.”

That call was on July 15, 2024. Five days later, Williams was arrested and charged with first-degree rape of a victim under the age of 13, first-degree rape with a dangerous weapon, indecent conduct with a minor, and pornography involving a minor. These charges apply to all three victims, according to PCSO.

UWK I also spoke to another woman who says her son was a victim three years ago. She said it took a long time for her and her family to learn of the ongoing abuse, but she became suspicious when her son began behaving erratically.

“For the last two years, he (his son) has been having a lot of behavioral problems and I’ve been taking him to counselors and stuff to see what was going on because that wasn’t his normal behavior and I was worried and very concerned about him.”

Williams’ bail was set at $2.5 million.

The PCSO investigation into Williams is ongoing and there may be more charges and victims to come.
