Atlanta Braves News: Luis Guillorme, Zack Short, Mets on Deck, more

The team may have been away, but the front office was busy as the Atlanta Braves made a few trades on Thursday.

First, the club announced a trade that sent infielder Luis Guilorme to the Los Angeles Angels in exchange for a player to be named later. Guillorme, 29, joined the Braves in the offseason after signing a one-year major league contract. He appeared in ten games for the Braves and got most of his playing time during Ozzie Albies’ absence. He had three RBIs with the Braves and recorded his first RBI with the Angels in his debut Thursday night.

The Guillorme trade freed up a 40-man roster spot, but it was filled a few hours later by the acquisition of infielder Zack Short from the Boston Red Sox. The Red Sox will receive cash consideration in exchange for Short, who was designated for assignment earlier this week.

Short had a terrible 2024 offensively, but he can certainly run and has a nice glove on him.
