Investigations into shooting at CCSO ongoing

The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that occurred early Monday morning on Lakeshore Circle.

The incident occurred at a home in the 2400 block of Lakeshore Circle, which has since been secured by authorities.

Sheriff’s Office spokesman Chris Hall provided an update after speaking with the Major Crimes Division. He stated, “Currently, the Charlotte County Sheriff’s Office is executing a search warrant at the scene as part of our investigation into the discharge of a firearm at this location. Two individuals sustained non-life threatening injuries and are currently receiving medical treatment. All parties involved have been identified and the individual who fired the firearm has cooperated throughout our operation.”

Officials assured the surrounding community that there was no further danger, but would remain on site throughout the morning.

The identities of the injured were not released, but officials confirmed their injuries were not life-threatening.
