1 dead in shooting in southeast DC

WASHINGTON – Police are still searching for suspects in connection with a shooting that left a man dead Sunday night near the Sycamore and Oak shopping center in southeast Washington, D.C.

Shortly before 6 p.m., officers from the Metropolitan Police Department were called to the 1200 block of Oak Drive Southeast for a reported shooting. When officers arrived on the scene, they found a man shot to death. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Police have not identified the man who was killed pending notification of next of kin.

The homicide squad is looking for two suspects in this case. An exact description of the person being sought has not been given. So far, no arrests have been made in this case.

Investigators are still trying to determine what led to the shooting, but ShotSpotter technology detected four gunshots in the area. The investigation is ongoing.
