Coast Guard Sea Rescue in Houston Ship Channel

It may have been a tugboat that sank and there are reports that one person is still missing.

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas — The Coast Guard rescued people believed to be aboard a vessel that sank in the Houston Ship Channel Friday afternoon.

Information is limited at this time, but the Coast Guard said several people were in the water. They may have been aboard a tugboat that sank near the Crosby-Lynchburg ferry and not far from the San Jacinto Monument.

There may still be one person missing.

There were HPD and HCSO boats in the area.
