Illegal immigrant abuses 14-year-old girl

A 20-year-old illegal immigrant is accused of sexually abusing a 14-year-old girl in Fort Walton Beach.

Honduran man Kevin Mauricio Escobar-Munoz was arrested on Wednesday on charges of sexual assault and burglary. He is also being held on immigration charges.

The alleged incident occurred on April 21, shortly before 7 a.m.

According to the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office, the victim told investigators that she woke up at home “to an unknown Hispanic man sexually assaulting her. She reported that he covered her mouth with his hand and spoke in Spanish. She stated that when he was finished, he hugged her and likely left through the back door.”

A medical examination of the victim showed a positive result for sexual abuse, the MPs said.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement said the male DNA profile that matched the male sample from the victim’s sex offender kit belonged to Escobar Munoz.

Investigators found that Escobar Munoz lived within one mile of the victim’s residence,” the sheriff’s office said in a news release.

According to the Department of Homeland Security, Escobar-Munoz was deported in September 2022.

“I can tell you from a sheriff’s perspective or from a local law enforcement perspective, I’m fed up,” said Okaloosa County Sheriff Eric Aden.

Aden said Munoz was flagged by border police and barred from returning to the country, but somehow he managed to get back in.

Aden added that a similar crime took place in February.

Jose Chan, 24, an illegal immigrant from Guatemala, is charged with assault on a 14-year-old.

He was arrested on June 27.

These are two 14-year-old girls, and young girls have been victimized by illegal immigrants,” Aden said. “Ask yourself, when will this stop?

Aden believes that most people who want to come to the United States do so for the right reasons.

He said these two cases put these people in a bad light.

“There is a process and there are great people coming over,” Aden said. “There is a path to citizenship and we have great skilled workers thanks to it. We have great business owners thanks to it. There is a process and I understand it is arduous but a lot of people are doing it right. But coming across our borders and enjoying the benefits of citizenship that native citizens don’t even have, that has to stop.”
