42 people arrested in human trafficking case in Scottsdale

PHOENIX — Authorities said 42 people were arrested during a two-day human trafficking operation in Scottsdale.

The Scottsdale Police Department’s Human Exploitation and Trafficking Unit conducted an operation last week to arrest sex buyers, child molesters and individuals involved in sex trafficking and human trafficking.

According to the police, it was a deception; children were not directly involved.

Police departments in Goodyear, Avondale and Surprise also participated.

Among the 42 arrests were 11 felonies and 31 misdemeanors.

The charges included child sex trafficking, pimping, prostitution, drug possession and various other criminal activities.

No further details were initially announced.
