One dead after accident involving loaded timber truck in western Wisconsin

SPRING BROOK, Wis. (WFRV) – A 77-year-old man was killed Wednesday morning in a crash in Wisconsin involving a tractor-trailer hauling logs and an SUV.

According to a press release, Dunn County Sheriff’s Office officials received a report of a semi-truck involved in a crash with an SUV at the intersection of 710th Street and 240th Avenue in the Town of Spring Brook.


A preliminary investigation revealed that a loaded lumber truck was traveling east on 240th Avenue and the SUV, driven by the 77-year-old, was traveling south on 710th Street.

There was a stop sign at the intersection at 710th Street. The SUV did not stop but continued through the intersection where the collision occurred.

The driver of the SUV was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the semi-trailer truck was uninjured.

The Dunn County Sheriff’s Office is still investigating the accident and no further details have been released.
