TONIGHT:

Today is a First Alert Weather Day with continued dangerous heat and humidity. Clouds will clear and break up a bit this afternoon, allowing more sunshine to come through. Temperatures should rise slightly above 80 degrees. With continued very humid weather, the heat index is expected to rise to just over 100 degrees. A heat warning is in effect for Middle Tennessee and southern Kentucky until 8 p.m.

There will continue to be sudden showers and thunderstorms this afternoon, especially south of I-40.

The night will remain warm and humid. A few nighttime showers/thunderstorms are possible, especially over southwest Kentucky and northwest Middle Tennessee. One or two sudden strong wind gusts cannot be ruled out there.

TOMORROW & THURSDAY:

Tomorrow is another First Alert Weather Day. It will remain very humid and for many there will be hot weather again. There will also be isolated showers and thunderstorms that will disrupt plans for some, slow traffic on the roads and force some to temporarily move outdoor fun indoors.

During the night from tomorrow to Thursday there will be some showers and thunderstorms.

As it will continue to be cloudy on Thursday with some showers, temperatures across the region should be above 27 degrees.

FRIDAY TO BEGINNING OF NEXT WEEK:

Friday will be partly sunny and hot, but not unusual for the time of year. Maximum temperature: 31 degrees.

This weekend you will have alternating cloudy and sunny weather with a 30-40% chance of isolated showers and thunderstorms.

More unsettled weather is expected for Monday and Tuesday next week, with the probability of sudden storms being between 40 and 50 percent.
