19-year-old arrested after man found shot on Orange County street

A 19-year-old was arrested after a man was found shot to death on a street in Santa Ana.

The suspect was identified as 19-year-old Adrain Lopez, according to Santa Ana police.


On June 30, police responded to reports of a shooting near Bristol Street and Memory Lane at approximately 12:28 a.m.

When officers arrived, they found a man lying in the southbound lanes of Bristol Street with gunshot wounds to the upper torso. He was identified as 20-year-old Fernando Manuel Lopez.

Despite life-saving measures, Fernando was pronounced dead at the scene. The shooter fled before police arrived.

Investigators later identified Adrain as a murder suspect. He was arrested near his home in Santa Ana on July 11.

Several search warrants uncovered additional evidence in the case, including the firearm used in the murder, officials said.

The motive for the fatal shooting remains unclear. Adrain was arrested for murder and taken to the Santa Ana jail.
