Fires damage bathrooms, soccer field: Buffalo Grove PD Blotter

The incidents occurred last Saturday in Emmerich Park, according to police.



BUFFALO GROVE, IL — The following information comes from the Buffalo Grove Police Department (unless otherwise noted) and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and people arrested on felony charges, which are state charges that are often dropped or reduced.

Updated information may be available from the Clerk of the Lake County Circuit Court. Any person arrested is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.

DRIVING WITH A SUSPENDED/REVOKE LICENSE

Antonio Valladares Garcia, 49, of the 200 block of Maureen Drive, Wheeling, had a Cook County warrant for his arrest, is charged with driving on a revoked license, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and was arrested at 4:03 p.m. July 4, at Weiland Road and Deerfield Parkway. He was taken to the Cook County Jail on the warrant and was assigned a court date of July 18.

INCIDENTS

CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY

  • A resident of the 600 block of W. Deerfield Parkway reported at 9:46 p.m. July 3 that both rear tires on his car were slashed.
  • Police responded at 8:07 p.m. on July 6 to Emmerich East Park, located at 151 Raupp Blvd., for a small fire near the building. They were able to extinguish two fires, one near the soccer field and the other in a portable toilet.
  • Police responded at 10:05 p.m. on July 6 to a fire in a restroom in an apartment building in Emmerich Park, 150 Raupp Blvd. Upon entering the men’s restroom, police found burned toilet paper residue on the floor inside a stall. Another stall also had burned toilet paper residue and the stainless steel toilet paper dispenser was damaged by burns. Police also found five matches inside a toilet bowl, each burned on the end.

VEHICLE THEFT

On July 5, a citizen reported to police that her purse had been stolen the night before while she was attending the Buffalo Grove fireworks. She had parked her car in the 700 block of Lake Cook Road and noticed her purse was missing when she returned home.

THEFT IN SHOPS

An employee at a business in the 80 block of W. Dundee Road reported at 5:41 p.m. on July 6 a store theft that had occurred earlier in the day. A person had entered the store and stolen two full displays of e-cigarettes.

CRIMINAL INTRUSION INTO VEHICLES

Police responded to the 100 block of Timber Hill Road at 11:35 p.m. on July 8 for a criminal trespass call. The complainant told police someone was rummaging through cars in the area.

MOTOR VEHICLE THEFT

A resident of the 200 block of Golfview Terrace reported at 6:54 a.m. on July 10 that his car had been stolen the night before.
