Newark stabbing under investigation

As a result of a stabbing incident on Tuesday evening in Newark, one person had to be hospitalized and a woman was arrested by local police.

At around 10 p.m., officers were called to the 800 block of North 6th Street after a report of an injured person.

Upon arrival, Newark Police discovered a victim with stab wounds to the abdomen and arm. The injured man was taken to University Hospital for medical treatment.

As authorities began to reconstruct the circumstances of the attack, they arrested a woman found at the scene.

The motive for the stabbing is still under investigation and police are actively working to find out the background to the incident.

The investigation is ongoing as officers require further information to assist their inquiries.
