On Sunday, June 30, 2024, at approximately 1:30 a.m., Houma Police Department officers responded to a shooting at Thirsty’s Bar at 1301 Barataria. Upon arrival, it was discovered that numerous shots had been fired at the location.

During the investigation, officers learned that a 49-year-old male victim had been struck in the leg by a ricochet bullet outside the Courtyard Marriott. Houma Police were then contacted by a local medical facility because a second 26-year-old male victim had arrived at the hospital with multiple gunshot wounds.

The investigation revealed that several people were involved in an altercation inside the bar, which continued into the parking lot as they left the bar. The suspects then went to their cars and several suspects armed themselves with firearms. The suspects shot each other and fled the area in separate vehicles.

The investigation led to the identity of one of the suspects, 27-year-old Dontrelle Robertson. He was later located and arrested on a warrant obtained by the Criminal Investigation Department for three counts of attempted premeditated murder and one count of unlawful discharge of a firearm.

Later that day, June 30, a third 24-year-old male victim was taken to a nearby hospital with a gunshot wound to the abdomen and is expected to recover.

All victims are recovering from their injuries as none of the injuries are considered life-threatening.

The investigation is ongoing and further details may be released at a later date.
