12 malnourished animals rescued from trailer in North Las Vegas: Police

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A man in North Las Vegas was found to be keeping 12 animals in his trailer, all of which appeared malnourished and confined in a small space, according to an arrest affidavit.

On Feb. 27, officers were dispatched to East Tropical Parkway and North Pecos Road after a disturbance and parking violation were reported. Upon arrival, officers immediately noticed an odor of feces and urine coming from a trailer illegally parked nearby, according to North Las Vegas police.


Cedric Milnder, the owner of the RV, was informed by police officers that his trailer would need to be towed. When officers entered the trailer, they found numerous dogs locked in cages. Another dog was discovered in a separate room or closet, a police report said.

According to police documents, there were a total of 12 animals in the trailer: 11 dogs of various breeds, including pit bulls, bulldogs, Chihuahuas, a Siberian Husky and Cane Corsos, and a lizard. The dogs were between three months and seven years old. The age of the lizard is unknown.

According to the police report, the dogs were confiscated and taken to the Animal Foundation.

Milnder is currently facing one count of animal cruelty and 34 counts of violating the Animal Welfare Act.

Milnder is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday at 8:30 a.m.
