17-year-old killed in car crash in Jackson County

JACKSON COUNTY – A Huntsville teenager was killed Sunday morning when he collided with a truck near Woodville, according to ALEA Senior Police Officer Cody Farrar.

At about 8:30 a.m., the 17-year-old, whose identity has not yet been released, was fatally injured when the 2015 Nissan Altima they were driving on U.S. 72 collided with a 1988 Chevrolet C2500 driven by Rodney Quick, 50, of New Hope.

The Altima then struck a trailer attached to a 1988 Chevrolet R3500 driven by Shelby Cloud Jr., 52, of Huntsville.

The teenager was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The ALEA Highway Patrol Division will continue the investigation.
