Flood zones in the Houston area

This list of Houston TranStar flood points will be updated automatically.

HOUSTON — As Beryl approaches the upper Texas coast, expect torrential rains that could lead to street flooding.

Here in Houston, it doesn’t take much standing water to damage your car.

You can lose control or stall in less than 6 inches of water. In just 12 inches of water, your car can start to float. In just 24 inches of water, your car can easily be swept away while you are still in it.

If you encounter flooding, remember the saying, “Turn around, don’t drown.” If the waters rise around your car, abandon it and move to higher ground.

Below is a list of flood zones as reported by Houston TranStar. This does not represent all roads that are covered with water. Please check with your local authorities for flood zones before traveling.
