One dead and one police officer injured in Fort Hall shooting – LocalNews8.com

FORT HALL (KIFI) – A shooting on the reservation left one man dead and a Fort Hall police officer injured.

Police responded to reports that a 13-year-old girl was sexually assaulted last night.

They were confronted by the suspect, a 20-year-old man, who pointed a gun at the officers.

While the suspect was killed, an officer was hospitalized but later released.

The FBI will investigate the shooting.

We have reached out to both Fort Hall Police and the Bingham County Sheriff’s Office for more information.

Both told us they would be unavailable until Monday.
