1 dead and 3 injured in jet ski accident off Brooklyn coast

NEW YORK (1010 WIN/WCBS 880) — One man died and three others were injured in a jet ski accident off the coast of southern Brooklyn late Saturday morning, authorities said.

It happened shortly after 11:50 a.m. near Plumb Beach in Gerritsen Creek, police said.

A 58-year-old man was seriously injured in the accident and received CPR at the scene. He was taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/South Brooklyn Health in critical condition but later succumbed to his injuries, police said.

A 56-year-old man and a 48-year-old woman also sustained injuries and were hospitalized, but officials said they were likely to survive.

A 68-year-old man was slightly injured but was not taken to hospital.

The circumstances of the accident were not immediately clear.
