Jakody Davis and Lamon Freeman, both 13, were shot and killed in the West End Apartments early Tuesday morning. An 11-year-old boy was also seriously injured.

LATEST STORIES:

Michael Seiden from Channel 2 spoke with Jakody’s father, Dontavious Davis, Sr., who said the injured 11-year-old was his son and Jakody’s younger brother, Dontavious “DJ” Davis. He said the shot broke all the bones in DJ’s foot and he is currently undergoing multiple surgeries.

Davis said his sons went to Freeman’s house to celebrate his 14th birthday. Freeman was killed 30 minutes later.

Jakody celebrated his 13th birthday on June 28th.

“We are devastated knowing this was his last birthday here on earth,” family members wrote on GoFundMe. “He was a kid who could light up any room, who could turn a bad day into laughter. He loved playing football as a player on the Atlanta JR Falcon team. He loved his family, riding his bike and dancing.”
