Lancaster County District Attorney Issues Fraud Alert

LANCASTER COUNTY, Pennsylvania – Officials in Lancaster County are warning of a jury duty scam that could affect the public.

The authorities are aware of several cases and believe that others may also be affected.

The scam caller identified himself as “Detective Larry White” of the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office. The caller allegedly speaks with a Southern accent and tells people they have missed jury duty and must pay a fine.

The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office advises residents that they will never call and demand payment over the phone.

The incident is under investigation.

Anyone who has received such calls has been asked to contact the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office at 717-299-8200 or their local police department. Do not provide any payment information.
