Police say a 17-year-old died last week when a gun accidentally went off at a southeast Oklahoma City store. When officers arrived, they found a victim with a gunshot wound, according to police. The victim was taken to a hospital, where he died, according to police. According to police, a 17-year-old died last week when a gun accidentally went off in a store in southeast Oklahoma City.

Just before 2:10 p.m. Friday, police responded to a reported shooting at a tire shop on Southeast 29th Street between Interstate 35 and High Avenue. When officers arrived, they found a victim with a gunshot wound, according to police.

The victim was taken to a hospital, where police said he died. Oklahoma City police identified the victim as Alfredo Sanchez, 17.

In a press release, police said it appeared Sanchez and another person were holding a firearm that accidentally discharged, striking and killing the 17-year-old.

MSgt. Gary Knight said the victim and the other person were friends and not customers. The other person’s age is unknown.

No arrests have been made. Oklahoma City police are asking anyone with information about the case to call the Homicide Unit at 405-297-1200.
