Man arrested after knife incident in public gardens

A man was arrested following a knife incident in a public garden.

At around 5.50am on 26 June, police were called to Upperton Gardens in Eastbourne following reports that a man was carrying a knife.

A 49-year-old man from Eastbourne was arrested on suspicion of carrying a knife and has since been released on bail pending further enquiries.

Police are appealing for further information about the incident. They have asked witnesses and anyone with information or footage to report the incident online or call 101 quoting serial number 0212 of 26/06.
