Rutland teenager killed, 2 teens injured in Mendon crash

Vermont State Police are trying to determine what led to a crash in Mendon that killed one teenager and seriously injured two others.

Gavin Barmore, 17, of Rutland was driving northwest on Notch Road just before 6 a.m. Sunday morning. Police say he left the road near the intersection of South Mendon Road and struck a tree. Barmore was wearing a seatbelt but died at the scene.

Two juvenile passengers were initially taken to Rutland Regional Medical Center. They were transferred to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center for further treatment. Neither of them was wearing seat belts.
