Company shuts down water supply in Madurai city for three days from July 1 to 3

Water supply in all 72 wards of Madurai city covering southern and northern parts of Vaigai will be suspended for three days from July 1 to 3, civic officials said here on Saturday.

According to a press release, the PWD engineers have to remove the cofferdam at Vaigai Dam. They will take three days to complete the work. Hence, water supply will be temporarily disconnected on the above mentioned days to enable the engineers to remove the cofferdam.

While the company is making alternative arrangements to supply water via tankers, those responsible are appealing to the public to save water and use it carefully during this time.
