Two people arrested after alleged attempted fraud and chase

Virginia State Police have released the identity of the person killed in the fatal March 4 car crash on Route 39 in Bath County.

(WJET/WFXP)– Two people were arrested in Venango County after police say they attempted to fraudulently withdraw money from a Pennsylvania man’s bank account.

Officers from PSP Franklin were first called to Northwest Savings Bank in Cranberry Township on June 14 because employees suspected an attempt to withdraw $4,000 from an account using a fake ID.

When police arrived, they said a car matching the description of the two suspects’ car was leaving a nearby Taco Bell and attempted to stop it.

The driver then reportedly drove off and a pursuit ensued westbound on US 322 before colliding with two stationary vehicles at the intersection with Home Depot Dr.

Both actors, identified only as 42-year-old Julian James of the Bronx, NY, and Lluwakayode Ajayi of Moon Twp., PA, attempted to flee on foot but were quickly caught and taken into custody.

Both men were charged with forgery, access device fraud, theft by deception, identity theft, fleeing/eluding and attempting to elude arrest on foot in Venango County District Court, but were denied bail.
