FROM EMPLOYEE REPORTS

Following an investigation by the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office, a suspect was charged with breaking into a neighbor’s vehicle and stealing a firearm.

Jasper Henderson

Sheriff Darren Campbell announced in a press release the arrest of Jasper Raheim Henderson, 21, of Pondview Road, Mooresville.

ICSO officers responded to a call to a residence on Rebel Hill Lane on Saturday, June 16, after receiving a report of a theft.

When officers arrived at the home, they encountered the victim, who reported that several items, including a shotgun, were missing from his home, Campbell said.

While searching the area, officers discovered a trail leading from Rebel Hill Lane to Pondview Road that had been recently walked on, the release said. Officers followed the trail directly to a residence on Pondview Road.

When they knocked on the door, they met and spoke with Henderson, who told them he had a lawn trimmer and a chainsaw that belonged to the victim, the sheriff said.

Detective Davidson investigated the incident and spoke with Henderson, who confessed to stealing the items from the victim, the press release states.

Henderson was charged with aggravated breaking and entering of a motor vehicle, grand theft of a weapon and petty theft. He was taken to the Iredell County Detention Center, where Judge H. Callejas set his bail at $2,500.
