Two teens charged in shooting of 3-year-old in Buffalo

Two teenagers have been charged in the shooting death of a 3-year-old boy in the city of Buffalo last week, according to Acting Erie County Prosecutor Michael Keane.

The acting prosecutor said a 14- and 16-year-old were arraigned on charges of murder, attempted murder, assault and criminal possession of a weapon.

Police say 3-year-old Ramone Carter was riding a tricycle when he and his 7-year-old sister were shot to death during a family gathering last Friday.

The 7-year-old is expected to survive.

Police say the children were not the target of the shooting.

Keane says the 16-year-old will be tried as an adult, while the 14-year-old will be tried as a juvenile offender.
