Man accused of sexually abusing woman at DuPage County crisis center

WHEATON, Illinois – A man has been charged with sexually assaulting a woman who was at the DuPage County Crisis Center.

Wheaton police were dispatched to the center in the 100 block of North County Farm Road just after 11:25 p.m. Wednesday. The crisis living center is a 12-bed unit that provides short-term crisis assistance to DuPage County residents.


A woman housed at the center was awakened in her room while allegedly being sexually assaulted by Lonny Bracey, 34, of Naperville.

Bracey is said to have fled the room after an argument and was taken into custody the next morning.

The woman was taken to the hospital.

Bracey was charged with sexual assault. He was ordered to remain in custody pending a detention hearing and his next court date is scheduled for July 16.
