Resmi of the Manjeri Fast-track Special POCSO Court (II) on Friday ruled that the 41-year-old criminal from Areekode will have to spend the rest of his life in jail. He was also fined Rs 100,000.

The father was accused of raping his daughter (born in 2006) between the ages of 10 and 17. The crime was committed in the house where he lived with his wife and two children.

Inspector M Abbasali, SI M Kabeer and Assistant SI K Swayamprabha of Areekode Police Circle conducted an investigation and filed the chargesheet. AN Manoj, Special Public Prosecutor, represented the prosecution which produced 24 documents and 22 witnesses.

The pervert was punished for penetrative sexual abuse of children below the age of 12 and sexual abuse of children by blood relatives (25 years imprisonment each). For sexual abuse of a child below the age of 12 and sexual abuse of children by blood relatives, he received 6 years imprisonment each. For multiple or repeated sexual abuse of a child and rape of a woman below the age of 16, the convict received 20 years imprisonment each. He was also punished for violating the Juvenile Justice Act and the IPC by threatening the victim.
