Waterloo man arrested and charged with armed sexual assault

A 35-year-old Waterloo man was arrested and charged by regional police in connection with an armed sexual assault.

Waterloo Regional Police searched a residence in the area of ​​Philip St. and University Ave. on Friday following a report of a sexual assault involving a firearm on June 18.

Officers found an airsoft pistol in the house and arrested the man from Waterloo.

He was charged with sexual assault and weapons offenses and was scheduled for a bail hearing.
