Shooting in downtown St. Louis leaves one dead and at least five injured, police say

A man believed to be 20 was killed and five others injured in an early morning shooting in downtown St. Louis, Missouri, police said Sunday.

In a Social media postThe St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department said officers arrived at the scene of a shooting around 2:30 a.m. CT.

An initial investigation revealed that a fight allegedly broke out between women, police said. At some point, men became involved in the incident and firearms were drawn, police said on social media. At least one firearm was recovered from the scene, but it was too early to say whether it was involved in the shooting.

The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department is investigating a shooting that left a man in his 20s dead and at least five other people injured.
