Kroger closes longtime Cobb County location – WSB-TV Channel 2

COBB COUNTY, Ga. — Kroger is closing one of its oldest stores in metro Atlanta.

The company announced Wednesday that it will close its 3300 Cobb Parkway location at the end of the summer.

The store will officially close its doors on August 17. Company officials said Channel 2 Action News the store is closing because its lease expires on August 30.

It’s unclear what will replace the store.

The store’s 70 employees will be reassigned to other Kroger locations, as outlined in the company’s collective bargaining agreement, according to a company news release.

Kroger representatives will meet with associates to discuss reassignments and additional options in the coming weeks.
