The Best Fourth of July Events in Metro Atlanta: Music, Food and More

Whether you want a laid-back music and dining experience or want to party the night away, Atlanta has what you’re looking for as Independence Day approaches! Wait in line to watch runners compete in the world’s largest 10K, enjoy delicious food truck fare, or catch a major league baseball game without leaving the area. And don’t forget to top off your celebrations with fabulous fireworks displays throughout the metro. Here are our recommendations for celebrating this 4th of July!

Southern Spirits

The Southern Museum of Civil War & Locomotive History and the Kennesaw Museum Foundation will host an evening of food and drinks in the museum. Tickets include two drinks (wine or beer), a tasting plate and a featured spirit. Lawn seating for the City of Kennesaw Fireworks Spectacular will follow.

Braves versus giants

What better way to observe America’s independence than to celebrate our favorite pastime? See the Braves at their best at Truist Park the day before the Fourth! The home team from Atlanta will face the San Francisco Giants.

Eat and Beat at the East Point Farmers Market

While this is not specifically an Independence Day event, it is an opportunity to get out inside the perimeter and celebrate in your own way with good food and good music. This long-running outdoor farmers market offers a fun afternoon of walking and shopping!

AJC Peachtree Road Race

The 10K race that the Atlanta Journal-Constitution calls the greatest in the world will begin for the 55th time this July 4. The race attracts elite runners from around the world and this is your chance to find a spot along the 6.2-mile course to watch the participants. compete for the top spots in their divisions.

Run, White and Blue 4th of July Race

If you’re not content to be on the sidelines, get in on the action with this fun 1K, 5K, and 10K run at Halcyon in Alpharetta. This race is family friendly and also open to walkers!

Atlanta’s Underground Fourth of July Block Party

Games, food trucks and dancing will fill the night at one of the city’s biggest block parties of the summer. The DJs will take the stage one after the other to bring the sounds of the 90s, 2000s and today’s hottest hits. This 21+ event will offer free barbecue for the first two hours, free admission until 4 p.m., and fireworks at dusk!

Cartersville 4th of July Celebration

Shop, eat and relax at Dellinger Park in Cartersville this 4th of July! The football field will fill with celebratory activities – children’s games, live music and more – during the afternoon, and Scott Thompson will take the stage at 8 p.m. The fireworks will start at nightfall!

Taste of Food Trucks – the celebration of the Big Bang

An array of delicious, shoppable food, great music, entertainment and games for the kids: it’s a 4th of July celebration for the whole family at Arbor Place Mall in Douglasville.
