Cupertino man arrested for arson and vandalism in San Carlos | Local news

According to the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office, a Cupertino man was arrested for two arson and vandalism incidents at the same home on Coleman Court in San Carlos on February 4 and May 16.

After months of investigation, 66-year-old Mark S. Alexander was arrested last week for two incidents. In the first case, sheriff’s officers responded to an early morning report of vandalism and found the victim’s garage sprayed with graffiti and the tires of one of their vehicles damaged. On May 16, officers responded to the same home on Coleman Court, this time for a vehicle fire. The Redwood City Fire Department responded and quickly extinguished the fire, although it did destroy two vehicles and heavily damage the home’s garage and porch. Sheriff’s office and fire department investigators concluded that arson was the cause of the fire. Alexander and the victim know each other, and these incidents are believed to be isolated incidents, according to the sheriff’s office.
