4 people were arrested for illegally dumping waste in Hartford

According to police, the items thrown away included “mattresses, box springs, construction debris, various types of trash and piles of tires.”

HARTFORD, Conn. — Four people have been arrested following a months-long investigation into illegal dumping in Hartford’s Parkville neighborhood, the city’s police department said Wednesday.

According to police, over several months there were several reports of illegal dumping of various items in the areas of Bartholomew Avenue, Wellington Street and Oliver Street.

According to police, the items thrown away included “bulky items such as “mattresses, box springs, construction debris, various types of trash and tire piles.”

Investigators obtained arrest warrants for four Hartford suspects who turned themselves in to police, including Loinell Keith, 45, Craig Batchelor, 64, Noel Cruz, 51, and Tiago Fernandes Da Silva, 25. All face charges of illegal dumping.

According to police, members of the Southwest Community Service Unit and Capital City Crime Center were involved in the investigation.
