Body of teenage girl found in north Houston Creek

HOUSTON — The body of a 12-year-old girl was found in a north Houston creek Monday.

The body was found along Rankin Road, just west of the Northern Highway, around 6:15 a.m.

At this point, we do not have details on how the girl died or who she was.

Houston Mayor John Whitmire, HPD Acting Chief Larry Satterwhite and detectives from the department’s homicide division will hold a news conference this afternoon about the discovery.
