McDowell County woman charged with sexual exploitation of a child

MCDOWELL COUNTY, NC (WSPA) — A Marion woman has been charged with multiple counts of sexual exploitation of a child.

According to the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office, 25-year-old Hannah Owensby was charged with second-degree sexual exploitation of a child and third-degree criminal sexual exploitation of a child.


Owensby was issued a $300,000 secured bond.

Officers began investigating the 25-year-old on March 18 after receiving a tip about possible child exploitation.

Electronic devices were seized from Owensby’s home and investigators found sexually explicit images of children on the seized devices.

Owensby was charged and arrested on June 6.
