Nighttime accident involving several motorcycles leads to closure of the Bay St. Louis Bridge

BAY ST. LOUIS, Mississippi (WLOX) – Due to an accident involving several motorcycles, the Bay St. Louis Bridge had to be closed late Friday evening.

The Harrison County Fire Department, Bay St. Louis Police Department, Pafford Ambulance and Acadian Ambulance Service responded to the accident.

Officials said two people were flown by helicopter to trauma centers outside the area. A third person was taken to a local hospital.

Since then, the traffic jam has cleared and all lanes are open again.

The Mississippi Highway Patrol is investigating the accident. We will update this article as new information becomes available.
