Uber Eats driver shot dead during attempted robbery with family in car

An Uber Eats delivery driver was shot while his wife and child were in the car in north Houston Friday evening. The incident happened at 16200 Imperial Valley around 10 p.m.

HPD responded to the scene, where they found a man who had been shot during a possible robbery. The victim, aged in his 30s, was delivering food with his wife and child waiting in the car when an unidentified suspect approached him as he was returning to his vehicle. The suspect shot the driver in the chest before fleeing.

Despite his injuries, the victim was able to get back into his car and drive a short distance down the street. Officers arrived and applied a chest seal to stabilize him. He was then transported to hospital and is currently in stable condition.

Authorities believe it was an attempted theft or carjacking. No other injuries were reported. The investigation continues and police are seeking any information that could lead to the arrest of the suspect.
