Sporting KC player suspended for gambling violations placed on leave again

KANSAS CITY, Missouri (KCTV) – In October 2021, Sporting KC midfielder Felipe Hernandez was suspended for the remainder of the season after being accused of violating Major League Soccer’s gambling integrity rules and standards of conduct.

It seems he is in trouble again for the same accusation.

Sporting KC announced Friday morning that Hernandez had been placed on leave following a report that the player had “violated the league’s gambling policies as well as the terms” of his reinstatement in 2022.

The striker from Colombia signed with Sporting KC as a homegrown player in August 2019. He has appeared in eight games this season.
