Did Travis Scott perform in Houston on Thursday night? If so, it was his first performance since the deadly Astroworld tragedy.

HOUSTON – It appears rapper, singer and songwriter Travis Scott took the stage in downtown Houston Thursday night for a surprise, impromptu performance.

IF It’s true that this would be the very first time that Scott – a Missouri City native – has taken the stage since the deadly crowd surge at his Astroworld festival in 2021.

The day after the show, social media was filled with shots and different angles, capturing the moment Scott took the stage to perform alongside his longtime friend and business partner, Don Toliver of Houston.

Toliver performed on his birthday at Warehouse Live in Midtown. It was also the night he released his new album, Hardstone Psycho.

In August 2023, almost two years after the NRG tragedy, Houston city officials announced that Travis was going on tour and making a stop in Houston.

At the time, law enforcement officials also told KPRC 2 Investigates that Houston Police Department leadership was unhappy with the artists’ return to Houston and that there was reportedly a recent meeting tense with HPD and several officers who expressed frustrations and safety concerns. about the show.

Ultimately, the show ended up being pulled from the lineup.

Since the Astroworld tragedy, Scott, whose real name is Jacques Webster II, has kept a low profile.

He released an album, Utopia, and also spoke out on several media platforms about what happened.

Earlier this year, he hosted his Travis Scott’s Cactus Jack Foundation Celebrity Softball Game in Houston at Minute Maid Park, where he and other notable artists, athletes and influencers came to town to play on the diamond.
