Tyson Foods CFO John Tyson arrested for drunk driving and reckless driving

“JOHN RANDAL TYSON” HAS BEEN SUSPENDED FROM HIS POSITION AS CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER OF TYSON FOODS. THE DECISION FOLLOWS HIS ARREST OVERNIGHT BY THE UNIVERSITY OF ARKANSAS POLICE. HE IS CHARGED WITH DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL. THE UAPD’S PRELIMINARY REPORT FOUND TYSON ON GARLAND AVENUE AFTER HITTING THE CURB. TYSON INITIALLY DENIED HAVING DRINKED AT ALL, BUT LATER SAID WHEN ASKED AGAIN THAT HE HAD 5 TO 7 BEERS. AFTER FAILING A SOBRYNESS TEST, HE WAS ARRESTED AND TAKEN TO WASHINGTON COUNTY PRISON. TYSON’S REPORT REPORTS INDICATE THAT WHILE IN PRISON, TYSON WAS OVER 1.91 PERCENT – TWICE THE LEGAL LIMIT. ARREST RECORDS SHOW TYSON WAS CAUGHT UP THIS MORNING SHORTLY AFTER 1:30 AM. HE WAS RELEASED AND IS SCHEDULED TO APPEAR IN COURT ON JULY 15. TYSON PREVIOUSLY PleadED GUILTY TO ENTERING A HOUSE AND PUBLIC DRUNK IN CONNECTION WITH AN INCIDENT FROM NOVEMBER 20-22. Tyson Foods CFO John Tyson was arrested again Thursday for drunken driving and reckless driving. After his arrest, he was suspended from his position, according to Tyson Foods. Washington County Detention Center records show Tyson was arrested at 1:32 a.m. Thursday morning and released nine hours later at 10:41 a.m. A report from the University of Arkansas Police Department says he was pulled over around 1 a.m. after police observed him speeding, making a wrong turn and driving off the road onto the curb and grass. Police said he smelled of alcohol and failed a sobriety test. Tyson told police he had consumed five to seven beers. Tyson was arrested and taken to the Washington County Detention Center. Tyson consented to a chemical test, which showed a blood alcohol content of .191 at 1:57 a.m. He is scheduled to appear in court on July 15. He is charged with drunk driving, improper turning/U-turns and reckless driving. We contacted Tyson Foods and received the following statement: “We are aware that John Randal Tyson, Chief Financial Officer of Tyson Foods, was arrested for allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol. Tyson Foods has suspended Mr. Tyson from his duties, effective immediately, and appointed Curt Calaway as interim Chief Financial Officer.”Previous ArrestThis is not the first time John Tyson has been arrested in Fayetteville. John Tyson, CFO of Tyson Foods, was arrested again on Thursday for drunk driving and reckless driving.

After his arrest, he was suspended from his position, according to Tyson Foods.

Washington County Detention Center booking information shows Tyson was arrested at 1:32 a.m. Thursday morning and released nine hours later, at 10:41 a.m.

His court date is scheduled for July 15.

He is accused of drunk driving, wrong turn/U-turn and reckless driving.

We contacted Tyson Foods and received the following statement: “We are aware that John Randal Tyson, Chief Financial Officer of Tyson Foods, was arrested for suspected drunken driving. Tyson Foods has suspended Mr. Tyson from his duties effective immediately and appointed Curt Calaway as interim Chief Financial Officer.”

Previous arrest

This is not the first time John Tyson has been arrested in Fayetteville. Last year, he pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor counts in Fayetteville District Court.
