Police arrest fourth murder suspect as he leaves Waterbury courthouse – NBC Connecticut

Police have arrested a fourth suspect in connection with the murder of a man as he left Waterbury Superior Court in March.

Jarron Chapman, 26, of Waterbury, was shot March 21 as he left the courtroom at 400 Grand Street and taken to the hospital where he later died.

On Wednesday, police arrested 34-year-old Tory Keith of Meriden. He was taken into custody at his home and charged with murder and conspiracy to commit murder.

He was set on bail of $5 million and will go on trial on Thursday.

According to police, he was also served with several other arrest warrants for failure to appear in court in connection with other crimes.

The police do not expect there to be any further arrests.

On April 17, police arrested Nicholas Chiapponi, 26, of Glastonbury.

He was charged with murder and conspiracy to commit murder. Chiapponi is being held on $3 million bail and is due in court on August 7.

On April 11, 21-year-old Deera Nelson of Meriden turned herself in to police and was charged with murder, conspiracy to commit murder and obstruction of justice.

She pleaded not guilty and is being held on $3 million bail, online court records show, and is due in court on July 23.

On April 10, police took 29-year-old Dante Howell of Meriden into custody in Middlefield.

Howell was charged with murder, conspiracy to commit murder, criminal possession of a weapon, criminal use of a weapon, illegal transfer of a weapon, illegal discharge of a weapon, first-degree reckless endangerment, second-degree disturbing the public peace, and theft of a motor vehicle.

He is being held on $5 million bail and is due in court on June 20.
