(VIDEO) Train-car accident reported on Alabama Highway

Tuesday afternoon, Floyd 911 was notified of an accident between a car and a train that occurred on the railroad tracks just behind Barker Road on Alabama Highway.

When emergency services arrived on the scene, they confirmed that a vehicle with three passengers had been hit by a train.

Atrium Health Floyd EMS, the emergency services on site, reported that the occupants suffered minor injuries.

The Norfolk Southern Railroad was ordered to close the line to other trains near the area.

The Alabama Highway was completely closed so that the vehicle and the railroad crossbeam could be removed from the tracks.

Police are reportedly investigating the accident.
