Construction Monitoring: Canalside Gateway – Buffalo Rising

The first building in the North Aud block is under construction. The Canalside Gateway Building, with a perimeter of approximately 3,000 squares, will be a four-story structure that will include one level along the canal towpath. It will provide information, public restrooms, security, retail and ADA accessibility between the two-level Canalside site, while consolidating waterfront operations in one location. Pennrose will develop the remainder of the North Aud Block site with a mix of residential and commercial space.

Manning Squires Hennig Company, Inc. of Batavia was awarded a $14.25 million contract to construct the building, which includes relocating an existing sanitary sewer line that runs through the project site. Funding comes from the New York Power Authority.
